Companionship Services

Emotional connection is just as important as physical care — especially for kūpuna. Loneliness increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, and dementia by over 30% (CDC), while strong social ties can boost longevity by 50% (NIH).

At Hānai Helpers, our goal is to provide compassionate companionship that uplifts spirits, builds connection, and supports overall well-being.

Companionship services include:

  • A kind, familiar presence offering support through conversation, storytelling, games, activities or simply being there with compassion and respect.

  • Scheduled visits or calls to ensure everything is okay and offer peace of mind to clients and families.

  • Assistance with set-up and troubleshooting for household technology like T.V, internet, phone, etc.

  • Sometimes you just need someone to help you research and identify trusted local services — from home repairs and maintenance to licensed home care agencies, assisted living services, and more. We’re here to help.

  • Capturing moments through photos or short videos (with permission) and sending personalized newsletters to family and friends to keep them connected and uplifted.
